The Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser: Supporters Jazz it Up at the Sweetwater
The Foundation’s annual fundraiser, held April 27 at the Sweetwater, raised over $46,000 to help it continue to fund programs and tools that enrich the educational experience for all Tam students.
The New Orleans-themed party featured appetizers and a dinner buffet provided by renowned chef Gordon Drysdale and complimentary wine and beer. It was a beautiful evening, and partygoers mingled in the tented, open-air patio, bidding on silent auction items that included wine lots, Giants tickets, the opportunity to sit in on a popular morning radio broadcast, a romantic getaway to Cavallo Point, hosted parties, and more.
Meanwhile, inside the state-of-the-art music hall, a roster of jazz musicians entertained the crowd, including the gypsy swing band Beso Negro and members of the Tam High Jazz Band with Tam student vocalists Salem Davern and Alexandria Demers.
Later in the evening, a live auction featured a dinner for eight catered by Mr. Drysdale, experiences in the sky aboard a twin engine plane, a Tahoe vacation, and more. The fundraising culminated with a Fund-A-Need auction that raised money to pay for the recent renovations and continued improvements to the Student Center.
The Foundation’s annual fundraiser is one of the four primary ways in which the Foundation raises money to support its programs. Together with the Parent Campaign, the Business Campaign, and the Shopping Program, this event helps the Foundation provide innovative teaching programs, cutting-edge technology, and educational and peer support that help Tam’s teachers and staff make Tam an extraordinary educational experience. The Foundation would like to thank all who made this event a success, especially Spring Fundraiser Event Chairs Lori Davern and Laura Diecks and their dedicated team of volunteers.
See you next year!
